Energy Conservation Investment vs. Investing in Green Technology

It strikes me that the people making decisions on the use and production of energy have no idea of the scale of either. Of course conservation is a good thing and a lot of little companies will see money in green technology but we are talking about millions of kilowatts. The best I could ever do producing coal-fired electricity was 22 mils. Nuclear can be generated for 8 mils or less. Nuclear is safe and Three Mile Island, which actually had a melt down, proved it by containing the melt down. Our leaders will go right on pushing solutions better suited for a grade school class project but in the end people want and need electricity even if we seem ready to settle for 3rd or 4th place in the industrial world. The world is going nuclear and we will soon fall behind in yet another arena.
