The Republicans aren't a party at all but rather the label for a variety of conservative causes that, to the disadvantage of freedom, rarely work well enough together to reverse any problems created by the Democrats and Liberals. The best we can hope for is Republican governing bodies that at least won't make things worse during their term.

Liberal Hypocracy - Foley and Gay Rights
I thought attacking homosexuals was a hate crime. Surely the Democrats, who authored all that legislastion to foster and protect homosexuality, wouldn't try to discrace a fellow congressman by calling him gay. Their shock and disgust can't be over concern for the safety of interns. Not too long ago they excused Bill Clinton for, as I recall, an unusual approach to teaching an intern about the evils of tobacco. Afterall, they said, he didn't do anything specifically illegal. In response to this attack the Republicans, like school boys looking for any distraction that will keep them from their story problems, spin out of control and both parties let those story problems - like a nuclear North Korea, a dangerous Iran, and a genicidal Sudan - go unattended. Please Lord (ops, sorry congress, didn't mean to refer to the diety), send us some leaders. What do we learn from all this? If you are gay, maybe the Democrats aren't as fond of you as you thought.
