After watching both major political parties for decades, it comes down to this: The country decays while the Democrats are in and it stops decaying when the GOP takes over. The really bad news is, the GOP doesn’t fix any thing. What we get is never ending decay with occasional plateaus. There is a hugh irony here for me. I had an Environmental Engineering company that helped industry deal with the government. The Democrats wrote all kinds of new environmental regulations but there were "ways" around them for industry. The the GOP would get back in and, while they wouldn't add new regulations, they would aggresively enforce the Democrats regulations. So why not start the Tea Party or become a Libertarian? The answer is, “a vote for any splinter group is a vote for the Democrats.” Is it just me our are we trapped in a two party system that is slowly destroying the country?
